Where is Apple going with trademarks

Filed under: Tech — Brij @ 2:19 pm

I doubt if lawyers sitting in Cupertino office are really that stupid. Consider this text from Amp maker Line6 website. From the Terms of Use page:

AX2, DL4, DM4, Douverb, Echo Pro, FB4, FBV, Flextone, Filter Pro, Floor
Board, FM4, GuitarPort, GuitarPort Online, HD 147, Jamware, Line 6,
MM4, Mod Pro, POD, Shortboard, Spider, Tubetone, Variax, and Vetta are
among the trademarks, trade names, and service marks of Line 6 that may
appear in this Website, many of which are registered in the United
States and other countries. This is not a comprehensive list of all
trademarks of Line 6. All other names and marks mentioned in this
Website are the trade names, trademarks or service marks of their
respective owners.

Consider this against all the news coming out that Apple is really going after every company using POD or PODCAST in their business use. I think Apple is really screwing up here and instead of narrowing the enforcement they are taking a wide sweep and are harming their own interests.
